Characters

Characters, characters, characters

There are so many options and paths we can take with this part of the trailers, which is why it is so important. This post is all about developing characters. We are including four people in the two trailers. This way, the audience can see the main figures in the film without giving away too much. We will be using our protagonist, Olivia; side characters, Morgan and Maddie; and antagonist, Bennett.

In order to get our thoughts together about each character individually, I created a document with simple ideas for each.

Protagonist:
Olivia
  • High school student

  • Very clever

  • Curious

  • Twin: Morgan

  • Interested in becoming a pilot

  • Finds the ancient camera

  • Always one step ahead of the antagonist

Side character: Morgan

  • High school student

  • Complete opposites

  • Not as witty

  • Ditzy

  • Interested in art

  • Doesn’t believe olivia about the camera

  • Pulls switcheroo with camera

Side Character: Maddie

  • Olivia’s best friend

  • High school student

  • Along for the ride

  • Believes Olivia

Antagonist: Bennett

  • College student

  • He wants to get the camera back - something important to his family

  • Smart

  • Evil

  • Trying to follow Olivia to find camera

Each character's description comes with a little mood board situation that I made. The Canva representation of the four main characters gives a sneak peek as to what each person's personality encompasses. We will be using these as inspiration when developing our characters. We already have out actors that will be playing each of these characters, so that is out of the way.

Next up on the blog is going to be our shooting schedule for the project!
